In 2013 Shawn purchased Craft Cut a long time wood shop in Santa Fe, New Mexico specializing in Stretcher Bars and Braces, inspired by her mom and friend, both artists seeking quality custom cut stretcher bars, and grandfather, who had a small wood shop and taught her everything she needed to know about wood - a special and renewable resource. July 1st 2025 will be our 12 Year Anniversary..

We've maintained the tradition of Craft Cut with a quality product and exceptional customer service. We are still a small shop and we purchase small batches of wood with quality in mind. Most of our orders are custom cut stretcher bars and braces and we know all of artists by name.

Our Specialty

Special Cuts Available (i.e. 1/8" 3/8" 15/16"). Stretcher Bars over 106" Shipped must be cut and spliced or freight options may be available. *Bars and Braces are cut from small batches of wood to maintain quality.

Notes of Interest:

Why are we more expensive? We make a better bar! We buy small batches of wood, & Bars & Braces are cut by one individual who oversees the production of your order from start to finish. In other words, we are a small operation.

On Bars & Braces

For larger frames 72" and over, consider extra bracing: one long and two short. For even larger frames 96" and over, consider even more bracing: two long and three short. When your bars leave our shop they are straight, but wood is wood, it absorbs moisture and doesn't like a lot of sunshine.

Our collection of products is made by various local artists, each an expert in their field. We also collaborate with international NGOs to support local communities across the globe. We practice fair trade and equal pay.
